Applesauce is such a delicious treat that I forget about. When buying it in the store, I always snag up the natural Mott's. But even that has some unnecessary ingredients!
Here is an easy way to make your own applesauce at home --- and it tastes SO much better! :)
Ingredients
- Apples - any kind**
- cinnamon
**Green apples make for a more "sour" applesauce, red apples make a sweeter applesauce**
Directions
- Skin, core, and chop apples.
- Place in a big pot on the stove.
- Simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally.
- The apples will begin to breakdown ---- add your cinnamon.
- For a thicker applesauce, leave do not mush :) For a thinner applesauce, run through food processor or blender.
- Enjoy!
This is delicious paired with pork chops or over greek yogurt.
